The Denver Museum of Nature & Science offers unpaid internships intended as preprofessional experiences for individuals who want to pursue a museum career. Hours vary according to project needs. Projects generally last from two to six months. Schedules can be flexible depending on project demands and the intern’s school or work schedule.

Paleobotany Intern
Department of Earth Sciences
The Paleobotany intern will be an integral part of the Denver Basin excavation team this summer. Duties include quarrying plant fossils, measuring stratigraphic section, preparing fossil plants in the museum's lab, labeling and identifying fossil plants, inputting data into a database and reporting research results. Some background in geology or paleontology desired, GIS experience a plus. Field training and Museum orientation provided. This is a summer position that may be renewed in the future; the deadline to apply is May 10.
Public Relations Intern
Marketing Department
The public relations intern will help with the media database, draft simple press releases, help with media events, and help mailing press kits.Schedule is flexible as needed. Staff training and Museum orientation provided. This is an ongoing position. |
