Actors
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science seeks part-time actors and temporary actors. Duties include: 1) acting in a two-character play about living in space; 2) performing as an astronaut inside a diorama of Mars while wearing a space suit; 3) interpreting objects; 4) using a wireless laptop computer in conversations with visitors; 5) facilitating interactive exhibits and demonstrations to help visitors get the most out of their experience. Strong background in stage performance required, enthusiasm a must, and space, health, or other science knowledge a plus. Approximately 15-25 hours/week including weekend day, plus some holidays/evenings/special events/trainings. Auditions required. Controller
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is seeking an experienced, dynamic individual to fill the position of Controller. The controller has responsibility for financial statements, annual audits, internal controls, payroll and sales tax compliance, support for the budgeting process, supervision of staff, communication of accounting matters to other parts of the organization and special projects. The successful candidate will have strong accounting and computer skills, solid grounding in internal accounting controls, good communication and people skills, and work well in a team setting. The position requires a degree with emphasis in accounting, CPA preferred, and at least three years supervisory experience. Grant accounting, not-for-profit and/or Dynamics Great Plains a plus. Salary range $50-56K. We offer excellent benefits and an exciting work environment.
