Services

Rest Rooms
Rest rooms and drinking fountains are located throughout the Museum and are wheelchair accessible. Most rest rooms are equipped with baby-changing stations.

The family rest room is available for your privacy and convenience. It is located at the entrance to the Coors Gems and Mineral Hall on the first level.

Pay Telephones
There are two TTY phones. One is centrally located on the first level across from the Insects exhibit; the other is in the IMAX evening lobby. The phones located next to the main exit are wheelchair accessible.


Elevators
Elevators are located in the north and south atria. Additional elevators are located in the Leprino Family Atrium. The elevator controls are marked in braille.

The Sky Terrace is accessible via the elevators in the Leprino Family Atrium. Press “4” in the elevators to access the Sky Terrace.

T-Rex Deli and Cafe
The T-Rex Deli is open from 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. daily and offers sandwiches, baked goods, and beverages. The T-Rex Cafe is open from 11:00
A.M. until until 2:00 P.M. and offers grill items, hot entrees, and a salad bar. Accessible seating is available on the lower level of the dining area.

Museum Shop
The Museum Shop on the first level near the entrance carries a wide selection of unique gifts for all ages. The shop is wheelchair accessible.

Aide Admission
If any visitor is accompanied by a professional aide, the aide is admitted to the Museum free of charge (one aide per visitor).

Service Animals
Service animals are permitted throughout the Museum, the IMAX Theater, and the Planetarium.

Emergency Service
The security staff have been trained in emergency procedures. In an emergency they will assist visitors with disabilities in evacuating the building.

Exhibitions and Programs
The Museum features a wide selection of traveling and permanent exhibitions, IMAX films, Planetarium shows, interactive gallery programs, lectures, and workshops. For information call 303-322-7009, 1-800-925-2250, TTY 303-370-8257

Bus Routes
RTD buses #20, #32, #40, and D stop near the Museum on Colorado Boulevard and Montview. For specific information, call RTD at 303-299-6000 or 1-800-366-RIDE.

Parking
There are 21 accessible parking spaces in the parking garage located on the north side of the Museum. They are located on all levels, and four spaces are van accessible. There are an additional two spaces on the east side of the building near the IMAX Theater evening entrance.

Entrance
A barrier-free entrance to the Museum is located at the main entrance on the north side. These doors are fully accessible with push-button entry. The ground level elevator on the east side of the IMAX Theater is available after 5:30 p.m. and is push-button accessible as well.

The east doors of the Museum near the T-Rex Deli and the east lobby of Phipps IMAX Theater are closed and no longer serve as an entrance to the Museum. The only accessible entrance to the Museum and IMAX Theater during business hours, 9:00 A.M.–5:00 P.M., will be the main Museum entrance on the north side of the building. The east lobby of the IMAX Theater will open beginning at 5:30 P.M., Wednesday through Sunday.
