Glacial Till

Glacial till is a mixture of sediment particles of various sizes (from fine grains to house-sized rocks) that are scoured from the ground and carried or pushed along as the glacier advances and are released when the glacier melts. Large glacial till rocks that have been transported hundreds, or perhaps thousands, of miles from their source by glaciers are called "erratics."
