Rock Striations

Rock striations are large grooves and gouges ("striations") that have been carved onto the surface of rocks as a glacier grinds against them. Louis Agassiz, a professor at Harvard University in the late 1800s, was the first person to recognize this type of evidence for the existence of giant continental ice sheets in the past.
