Shelter. Food. Clothing. Tools. Though these are basic human needs, different cultures satisfy them in different ways. In the North American Indian Cultures Hall, see the various—and often beautiful—approaches Native American tribes have taken to fulfill these necessities.

Visit an Eskimo snowhouse, a Northwest Coast clan house, a Navajo hogan, and a Cheyenne tipi. View everyday items, such as saddles, boats, jewelry, tools, and toys. No matter what their tribal origin, the practicality and artistry of these objects will amaze you.
