From
a landmass as large as
the continental United
States to an island two
miles square, the Australia
and South Pacific Islands
hall covers a lot of groundand
some very diverse habitats
too!
In
the Australia exhibits,
view koalas with their
cubs on board, joeys tucked
in kangaroo pouches, and
large, flightless emus
and cassowaries. The Pacific
Island portion of the
hall showcases the seals
and penguins of Campbell
Island (located 400 miles
south of New Zealand),
as well as the birds of
tiny Laysan Island in
the Hawaiian archipelago.
