These badlands near the town of Marmarth, in the southwest corner of North Dakota, include some of the richest fossil localities in the Western Interior of North America. They also span the K-T boundary, which marks the extinction of the dinosaurs. It was from this region that the Museum collected a fossil Neurankylus turtle now on display in Prehistoric Journey.
