American Birds

Traveling to the Monte Vista Wildlife Refuge in Alamosa, one meets up with the Sandhill cranes that frequent the area. And along the Front Range and Longs Peak, pintails and mallards are a common sight.

Farther south in Florida, the majestic great white heron spreads its wings in the ocean environment of Big Pine Key.

Surrounding Lake Atitlan and in the Guatemala Cloud Forest, the colorful pink-headed warbler and Mexican jay spend sunny days soaking up their environment.

Island paradises boast the scarlet ibis and hoatzin of British Guiana; and Santa Isabela is home to the American oystercatcher and Heerman's gull.

So spend a day with these creatures of flight and learn how they live.
