Visit the Adventure Zone this summer and journey to eight exciting destinations:
Learn how your amazing brain works by using your five senses to discover the world around you. Explore your abilities to fool your brain and learn how to protect it from injury.
Play with the Sun and planets! Find out just how big the Sun really is and make a sundial to take home.
Catch a bug's eye view to the bugs around you. Get tickled by a tarantula, listen to the hiss of a cockroach, and see insects in action as you travel through Insect Island. Come see what the buzz is all about!
Trying to decide what to wear for your global adventure? Check out the gear that people use for the heights of the Himalaya, the plains of the Serengeti, and the rains of the Northwest Coast.
Play a variety of percussion instruments, including congas and a steel pan drum, while learning about the role of rhythm in music. Also try playing your favorite song on a piano while watching its exposed inner workings create the sounds.
Take what you make! A sundial, a moose call, a caterpillar's metamorphosis into a butterfly! You can make it yourself at the Crafts Camp.
Weather can be wild! Summer rains, thunderstorms, lightning, tornadoes! From where do they come? At the Exploration Station, we'll do experiments about the weather to find out the answers.
Come read a story or hear one told. Listen to fables about the spider and discover myths about the planets. Then explore the rest of the Adventure Zone to learn what's really true about the world around us.
